SXSW in review

As we lay our heads down and go to sleep on our two headed pillow, we must look behind us to reflect on the past events that have filled our hearts and souls with joy.  The most recent of which and pulling ahead of the pack in the exhausting fun department would be the Two Headed Party at SXSW 2010.

Good lord what a sight.  From the bands to the people to the food to the maximum potential to the word to the mom's, what an event it was!  Thank the good lord we all made it out alive as two day parties, twenty or so bands, BBQ, Beer, and general SXSW mayhem overtook each one of us for a moment but failed to take us down...

A BIG THANK YOU to all the performing bands.  What an incredible line up and good spirited attitude that carried throughout the entire event.  All the talent in the world and sweet as sugar.   Our deepest apologies to all the artists who were rained out on Saturday :( we shook our fists in the sky and cursed God for his untimely wrath upon the outside stage.  We will remember you most in our hearts as the wayward talent SXSW brought to our doorstep only to be snatched away by the cold bitch of Mother Nature.  First dibbs next year, promise...

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our sponsors who donated their time, energy, and $$ to help make this event happen.  This means YOU, MAGIC HAT BREWING CO. and your #9 PALE ALE that whet the whistles of nearly everyone in the joint...Ahhh, yes.  A nice clean buzzzzz.  Also - How about the Star Wars goodies provided by our friends at UNDERGROUND TOYS.  Talking Yoda, Chewbacca, Iphone covers, talking keychains...I challenge anyone to a duel of parties with cool shit like that on our side.  AIR FILMS, thank you for taking the time to capture some of the best moments of our two day event on that crazy, HD camera...mounted to a steering wheel?  What will this new fangled, technologically advanced generation bring us next, a phone that plays music?!

OLD FLAME RECORDS out of Brooklyn, NY.  So much great music coming out of Brooklyn in the past few years...no wonder.  When Rob Mason of Old Flame came to us to collaborate on this party, we knew we had a good thing going.  Thanks for bringing some tremendous bands to the table!  DEAD CONFEDERATE, TWIN TIGERS, FRENCH MIAMI...stellar performances.

ALSO - Thank you to our venue sponsor, ENCORE.  The heart of the owner of this club is MASSIVE.  You guys made this event better than it could have been anywhere else!  Thank you eternally for providing us all the hospitality and great vibes throughout the two days...Holy Light Show!!!  PURE GREASE cause the posters looked rad!  Paul Drohan of D5ive for the design...the saga continues :)

THANK YOU ROOTS!  Never have I enjoyed BBQ like that Sunday...Great vibes and delicious food!  Nothing better than a sunday spent with great music, beer and BBQ.  You guys knocked it out of the park and, for this, we thank you.

Lastly but definitely not least - a big thanks to Laura Wallgren of MAKE LOVE MUSIC.  For her tireless efforts and organization, great taste in music and wonderful job booking and curating this Two Headed event.  Also for her breakout as Director and Producer of new TRANSFER video for  GET SOME REST.  So much heart and soul was put into this party and she was the source.  (Also held the Barn Burning Afterparty with Treasure Mammal, Ross Dubois and Laurel Collective)...Rattle the animal bones!!

**VOLUNTEERS**

Sarah Marine, David Laguna, Shauna Danos - YOUR HELP WAS ESSENTIAL TO THE PARTY'S GREATNESS.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

If you received a Dog Tag from the show...don't forget to go to the WEBSITE and redeem the album of songs donated by all the stellar bands that were involved in the show.  I have never heard a more solid compilation album...
