Hiding Places
Description
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, Charlotte Martin is preparing for the release of her new Hiding Places DVD/CD on April 3, 2012.
Over
the course of her career, Martin has recorded both major label and
independent releases, performed sold-out shows to audiences across the
United States and shared stages with the likes of Liz Phair, Pete Yorn,
Damien Rice, Jason Mraz, and many others. Her music has been licensed
for countless television shows, including So You Think You Can Dance,
which regularly features her song “The Dance” during the show’s open.
Details magazine called her “a seductive performer” and “a skilled
lyricist who writes with surgical precision” and Performing Songwriter
praised Martin as “a born storyteller and affecting vocalist.
Hiding Places, filmed, edited, and produced by Ken Andrews
(Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Lostprophets) showcases Martin’s two sold-out
shows at Joe’s Pub in January 2011 (New York City, NY) as well as studio
recordings from the 8-song companion EP including new tracks, “In a
World” and “Warrior” and acoustic takes on “Animal” and “Stromata”. The
70-minute live performance/documentary DVD is the first official
release of Martin's career that is uncensored, in her own words, and
emphasizes the importance of her fight to continue making music despite
all odds.
This
DVD/CD set is perfect for long-time followers and new fans alike while
capturing Martin’s intense live performance and intimate behind the
scenes footage.
Hiding Places DVD/CD releases April 3, 2012 courtesy of Test-Drive Records.
